1. Introduction

Sustainability has always been part of our core identity. We take responsibility for the environment, resources, and future generations, and consistently implement this responsibility in our core business.

This policy defines binding guidelines for sustainable products, environmentally friendly production and transparent supply chains, and serves as a common benchmark for us and our partners.

2. Scope of application

The sustainability policy applies to:

• all products from RIBECO

• Production and logistics

• the entire supply chain up to the raw material source

3. Commitment to sustainability

For all relevant products, RIBECO (Richard Behr & Co.) requires compliance with applicable legal requirements as well as recognized environmental and sustainability standards.

Our sustainable core principles:

• renewable or recycled raw materials

• recyclable products

• resource-efficient, climate-conscious production

• same high standards for packaging

Our goal is to continuously increase the proportion of sustainable products, production processes, and packaging. Our suppliers are obligated to adhere to these minimum standards at all stages of the supply chain. RIBECO is a member of the Business Environmental Performance Initiative (BEPI) and actively implements its standards.

4. Requirements and Implementation

We work exclusively with partners who:

• comply with local and international environmental standards

• be able to present relevant certifications

• Apply sustainable production methods

We pay particular attention to textile-related environmental issues:

• OEKO-TEX® certified fabrics and fillings

• Hygienically tested natural fillings according to EU standards

• Tested processes without environmentally harmful wastewater
  

Compliance is monitored through independent tests and audits. Products or materials that do not meet our requirements are not used.

5. Active further development

Sustainability is a dynamic process for us. We regularly review our standards and develop them further together with suppliers, customers and external partners.

This includes:

• the expansion of certified and vegan products

• Pilot projects to reduce energy and water consumption

• the use of renewable energies

• continuous improvement of conventional products

Our sustainability policy is an integral part of our terms and conditions. We expect binding corrective measures in the event of any deviations. Implementation is regularly reviewed and evaluated annually to ensure responsible and sustainable production in the long term.
